“I Am Ready to Perform My Word” |
 |
|
Moreover the word of the LORD came to me,
saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said,
“I see a branch of an almond tree.” Then the
LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am
ready to perform My word.”
Jeremiah 1:11, 12 |
 |
|
God’s Word—which He is ready to perform—is like
seed. We know this because Yeshua said in Luke
8:11, “The seed is the word of God.” |
|
And just as seed is alive, so is God’s Word.
Yeshua said in John 6:63, “The words that I
speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” |
 |
|
Now like seeds, words may look lifeless and
powerless; however, they are not without life or
power. Indeed, Yeshua explained that the kingdom
of God works like a seed; so if we are to
understand God’s kingdom and how it operates, it
is important to understand the workings of
seeds. |

A seed... |
 |
|
Is Alive:
When a seed is in the ground, you cannot smell,
see, or feel it—but it is alive. It has been
planted. |
 |
|
Is Planted:
Indeed, a seed does not yield anything until it
is planted. The best way to plant God’s Word is
by speaking it and believing it in your
heart—confession or proclamation is essential. |
 |
|
Is Sowed:
Seed must be sowed and always produces after its
own kind—“whatever a man sows, that he will
also reap” (Galatians 6:7). Are we sowing
words that express thankfulness, praise, and
belief in the Word of God? |
 |
|
Needs Nourishment:
A seed will stop growing without nourishment.
Planting a seed is not enough to ensure a
harvest; it must be protected and cultivated
until harvest time. If the seed is not watered,
it will not flourish. |
 |
|
Grows in Secret:
A seed begins to grow in secret. The only way to
tell if a seed is growing is to dig it up or to
wait for a plant to appear. |
 |
|
Takes Time to Grow:
A seed will require time to produce. No one
expects to yield a harvest the same day that the
seed is planted. The fruit of God’s Word grows
and is effectual in every circumstance. |
 |
|
Grows Against Obstacles:
A seed is powerful. It needs to grow and will
push against dirt and rocks—any obstacle. |
 |
|
Is Persistent:
A seed never gives up—it grows day and night,
even when you are sleeping. The seed that you
have planted is working to grow and express
itself in a fruitful harvest. |
 |
|
Is Not Discouraged:
A seed is not affected by other seeds. Each seed
perseveres in its own task; it does not become
disheartened, nor does it quit even if other
seeds die. |
 |
|
Needs Other Seeds:
The more seeds that are planted, the larger the
harvest. “…He who sows sparingly will also
reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will
also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6). |
 |
|
Produces Something Bigger:
A seed is much smaller than the plant that it
produces. Likewise, the outcome of a proclaimed
Scripture will be much bigger than what we
think. |
 |
|
Possesses Might and Power:
While the word of a leader carries with it all
the power and authority of a nation, the Word of
God possesses something far greater: all of the
power and authority of the Almighty Himself. |
