The Bible
says that there is a "season" for everything and a "time" for
every purpose under heaven. Clearly, this is the "season" to comfort God’s
people in Israel, and the "time" to help them is now. Please
consider supporting us, so that we may do more to assist the Jewish
people. |

Last
June, I had the opportunity, together with Paul
from our office in England, to visit Efim and
Simon at Finnvilla in Tiberias. When we arrived,
it became clear that ours was a very timely
visit. Efim had
just had further surgery for thromboses, and
Simon had had a second hip-replacement surgery. Simon, who had moved out of Finnvilla, had
returned and was happy to be back there,
which he described as a safe home for him. Both
were doing well, considering that they had just gone
through surgery. |
 |
|
During our time of fellowship with them,
it became obvious that they did not have much
food at home. They were too embarrassed to
ask for assistance, but as I continued to
determine what their need was and what caused
their need, we learned that due to various
reasons and unexpected expenses, they required
food. |
 |
|
So
Paul and I went to purchase some essential items and presented
them to Efim and Simon. They were
both relieved and thanked us for coming to visit
them at just the right moment, as they had had no idea
what they were going to do for the coming two
weeks until they received their next pension
monies. |

Despite his circumstances, Efim looked very well,
and it was encouraging to see how he continued to
get settled in Israel. Recalling the
first day that I had met Efim and looking at him
during that visit, I realized that it was truly a miracle and
an answer
to prayer that Efim had come through so many
challenges in settling here
and awaiting the day that his daughter, Asya,
would be able to join him in Israel. Efim also was very proud to
show us his work in the garden at Finnvilla, and
he told us how much he enjoyed it. |

Praise the Lord for His ongoing work of healing
in Efim! As we left, he
wished us health and strength in all that we do. He said, “If you are well, then those of
us who need your help will be well.” I smiled
and told him that we give praise to the God of
Israel, because it is He who continues to
encourage His people to come home to Israel and
to help them settle in their Land. Efim and Simon both agreed.
They bid us farewell, and we rejoiced to
see the joy in their faces as we left,
knowing that the Lord had brought us to their
home in a time of need and that it was possible
to meet the need. To God be the glory! |
