Fishing Representative Yanya shares that the last fishing trip to various regions was difficult as it was very hot and the living conditions were hard, but in spite of this the team were able to testify that the Lord was with them. Thirty of the eighty families visited immediately expressed the desire to leave for Israel.
The team explained that the Holy One of Israel remembers them and loves them and it deeply touched their hearts. In Volyn region the team saw many poor Jewish families – some didn’t even have enough money to buy bread.

Humanitarian Aid
We thank the Lord for the safe arrival of the lorry from the UK. Several western volunteers/guests participated in the distribution, including Arjen from Netherlands (Prayer Coordinator), Nigel and Joann Woodley (Chairman for New Zealand) and Engage Ukraine participants. Our guests were greatly blessed by visiting Jewish organisations and families, sharing the Word of the God of Israel with them about returning to the Land of their forefathers.
We praise the Lord for providing for the new aid project ‘School stationery for Jewish children’, which has been launched from four bases (Pyatigorsk, Rostov and Yekaterinburg in Russia and Uzbekistan in Central Asia). We've heard wonderful testimonies from Pyatigorsk base where one of our local representatives visited a Jewish single mother of 9(!) children. Anya, our Base Leader, writes: "She had never thought about her Jewish origin before, whereas she became interested in the life in Israel after our visit and sharing information with her. This family received a stationery kit and some aid for purchasing clothes for the children to be able to go to school. They were very happy and grateful to our Fund for all help."
Through your support the Lord provided for another aid project to be launched in Rostov base ‘Supporting Jewish families with many children and children of limited abilities’. We’ve decided to continue with this project in 2011 as a good number of Jewish families with many children are still to be visited. In July Volodya and Ljuba our team representatives visited 7 Jewish families (total 23 children) providing aid for them. Volodya writes: “It was not just a regular charity act for us – it was another good opportunity for fishing. The addresses of these families were given to us by the Hesed coordinators, and among them there were a number of new families – in addition to the ones we met last year.” I would like to underline that before we have started this project, Hesed leaders didn’t want to give us any addresses as they knew Ebenezer is only involved in aliyah… However when we turned to them with the offer to support families with children of limited abilities, they opened their doors and we were able to help.”
