Ebenezer Operation Exodus - Night To Honour Israel In South Africa

Night to honour Israel

A Christian group organized a “Night to honour Israel” on 13th August 2011. Hundreds of people attended the meeting. Although mostly Christians, there were some Jews present as well. There were Hebrew and English songs of praise, dances and several speakers. I had the opportunity to share about aliyah and Ebenezer’s involvement. People visited the book table after the meeting and many took literature and our bulletins home with them. They all expressed how blessed they were to hear about the work.

A pleasant surprise was a small group of young people from one of our small neighbouring countries, Swaziland, who attended and did some dances as well. One of the young men carried a special message from the King of Swaziland who expressed their solidarity with Israel. It was a moving message of love and understanding of God’s plan in and through the Jewish people. I must confess, I did not even know that Swaziland’s king and government was standing with Israel and the Jewish people. is often referred to as “dark Africa” but what an encouragement to find there is a light in this continent of darkness.

A member of our own Parliament who heads one of our small political parties – Rev. Kenneth Meshoe – is a great friend of Israel. He was one of the speakers and suggested and encouraged us to arrange on a large scale a march for solidarity with Israel in South Africa. He said “no matter what happens in the parliament on that day – I will be marching in the front row.” At the end of the meeting a Messianic Jewish Church leader announced that he is taking up the challenge and will arrange the march. So, we have something to look forward to.

It was an honour and privilege to attend both above mentioned meetings and it touched my heart to see how God is busy bringing Jew and Gentile together.
